摘要: Sperm storage is an important phenomenon occurring in viviparous and oviparous teleosts contributes to the reproductive life history of these forms. There a paucity morphological studies on sperm fishes. The majority have been confined light level investigation. In this report, we describe, at ultrastructural level, platyfish, Xiphophorus maculatus. Female as typical poeciliids, are capable storing viable for up several months within ovary gonoduct. We observed that stored inseminated platyfish became associated with specific epithelial cells (SACs) lining oviduct. Two forms association were seen: 1) found deep surface pits pockets, 2) spermatozoa taken incorporated cytoplasm SACs. Junctional complexes form tight junctions (zona occludens) desmosomes apico-lateral surfaces SACs prevalent. could contributed allograft survival haploid heterogenetic female's tract. Our results shed mechanism serve model other poeciliid species sperm.
