摘要: This text compares two different Brazilian translated versions of Toni Morrison’s novel Beloved . The first was published in 1994 and, the other, 2007, both as “Amada” (in Portuguese). analysis concentrates on speech that Baby Suggs delivers to her listeners, exhorting them care for their own body. main idea behind this article is and “ Amadas” converse, thus performing signify(ing), concept which, Gates’s (1988) words, explains how intertextual conversation happens through “repetition revision, or repetition with a signal difference” (GATES, 1988: xxiv). source target texts involves translation theories: fluency resistance; kinds translating interventions: omission addition; three types strategies: syntactic, semantic, pragmatic.
