Infrared spectroscopy and upconversion luminescence behaviour of erbium doped yttrium (III) oxide phosphor

摘要: Abstract The paper reports upconversion luminescence behaviour and infra-red spectroscopic pattern of erbium doped yttrium (III) oxide phosphor. Sample was synthesized by solid state reaction method with variable concentration or (0.5–2.5 mol%). conventional is suitable for large scale production eco-friendly method. prepared sample characterized X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. From structural analysis XRD technique shows cubic structure no impurity phase were found when increase the Er 3+ . Particle size calculated Scherer’s formula it varies from 67 nm to 120 nm. surface morphology phosphor determined field emission gun scanning electron microscopy (FEGSEM) good connectivity grains as well some agglomerates formation occurs in sample. functional group done Fourier transform (FTIR) which confirm Y 2 O 3 :Er prepared. results indicated that phosphors might have high efficiency because their low vibrational energy. Under 980 nm laser excitation intense green at 555 nm orange 590 nm wavelength. For transition H 11/2  →  4 I 15/2 , S 3/2 emissions. Excited absorption energy transfer process discussed possible mechanisms. near infrared spectra recorded. intensity increasing up 2 mol% after decreases due quenching occurs. Spectrophotometric determinations peaks are evaluated Commission Internationale de I’Eclairage (CIE) CIE dominant peak PL so may be useful light emitting diode (GLED) application.
