摘要: Water associated with polymeric pharmaceutical excipients derived from cellulose and starch can have a profound effect on the properties of excipient other ingredients making up solid dosage form. Important questions which need to be addressed include How much water will sorbed or desorbed at various relative humidities temperatures? What is thermodynamic state as function moisture content? A critical review literature presented demonstrate most likely answers these questions. It appears that exists in least three states starch, cellulose, their derivatives: (1) directly tightly bound, stoichiometry one molecule per anhydroglucose unit; (2) relatively unrestricted form, approaching bulk pure liquid water; (3) an intermediate states, reflecting higher level structure than but less bound water. Some implications such behavior for systems are discussed.
