Synthesis of bentonite clay based hydroxyapatite nanocomposites cross-linked by glutaraldehyde and optimization by response surface methodology for lead removal from aqueous solution

摘要: A novel nanocomposite (BT–HAp) was developed by chemical synthesis using hydroxyapatite nanoparticles and bentonite clay further applied for toxic lead (Pb) removal from aqueous solution. Three types of based nanocomposites were prepared varying the pH solution (3, 7 10) with addition glutaraldehyde as a cross-linking agent. The formation performance BT–HAps are described herein. Clear sharp XRD peaks suggested presence compounds in composite. FTIR spectra confirmed existence functional groups required to develop nanocomposite. Bt–HAp also characterized terms BET, FESEM TEM etc. establish their formation. synthesized at showed higher sorption capacity than those 3 10. mathematical statistical optimizing technique (response surface methodology) verify interactive effects various parameters on capacity. analysis variance discussed factors response significance predicted model (R2 = 0.9906). Langmuir isotherm best represented phenomenon having 346 mg g−1 30 °C. mechanism well pseudo 2nd order kinetic indicating coexistence both physisorption chemisorption. Moreover, considerable amount Pb (∼99%) observed via sorption.
