摘要: Thin polypyrrole (PP) films with octanesulfonate, dodecylsulfate and polystyrenesulfonate counterions were electrochemically switched between the conducting oxidized insulating neutral state in various electrolytes. In propionitrile under rigorous exclusion of oxygen water PP can be cycled more than a thousand times without an appreciable decrease electrochemical capacity. aqueous medium this process becomes irreversible after less hundred scans, effect being strongly influenced by pH electrolyte. Furthermore pronounced dependence available charge upon time (t5) subsequent scans is found. It known that treatment base leads to remarkable conductivity. A mechanism which explains loss conductivity proposed, addition possible occurrences chemical changes as side reactions during cycling discussed.
