摘要: Abstract The effect of natural organic matter (NOM) on Cu(II) adsorption by multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) was investigated. Particular attention paid to the relationship between NOM properties and their effects MWCNTs. results showed that data were well fit Freundlich isotherm model, MWCNTs had higher oxygen content lower K F (Freundlich constants) values. values for different types varied greatly proportional aromatic content, specific ultraviolet absorbance at 275 nm, TOC-normalized fluorescence intensity F3 peak ∼460 nm. In contrast, they negative linear correlations with ratios 250 nm 365 nm F1 from 300 nm. indicated π–π hydrophobic interactions predominant mechanisms increased increasing concentrations due complexing adsorbed NOM. This confirmed XPS FTIR spectra. degree positively correlated carboxyl group polarity index findings in this study highlight characteristics are responsible controlling its heavy metal sorption
