The politics of comments: predicting political orientation of news stories with commenters' sentiment patterns

摘要: Political views frequently conflict in the coverage of contentious political issues, potentially causing serious social problems. We present a novel annotation analysis approach for identification news articles' orientation. The focuses on behavior individual commenters. It uncovers commenters' sentiment patterns towards articles, and predicts orientation from sentiments expressed comments. takes advantage participation as well their knowledge intelligence condensed comments, thereby greatly reduces high complexity view identification. conduct extensive study behaviors, discover predictive commenters showing degree regularity patterns. develop evaluate pattern-based methods
