摘要: Abstract Purpose To document the types and levels of stress experienced by general surgery program directors as they fulfill their education administrative responsibilities. Methods This study consisted a 3-part survey that incorporated 2 established instruments to help determine presence burnout in directors. A personal projects analysis was used identify tasks most relevant role director well evaluate perceptions these tasks. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) measure degree among Demographic data were gathered develop picture background how spent time. Results total 71.8% responded. Of all tasks, teaching received highest ratings for importance, enjoyment, control, lowest stress. Emotional exhaustion notable aspect on MBI. Program scoring high younger, had been current position fewer years, years overall director. Conclusions is more related age experience than features itself.
