Functionalization of Si(100) surface with benzonitrile molecules in an ultra-high-vacuum molecular evaporator

摘要: Abstract We investigated benzonitrile adsorption on Si(1 0 0) deposited in a home-made molecular source using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). A high-purity was constructed for evaporation of organic molecules the liquid phase. The flux and deposition rate are stable over time yield good control coverage level to less than one monolayer. method described creation beam can be extended various phase under ambient conditions substrates. To confirm reliability our results, we used as substrate that is highly demanding terms vacuum quality (residual gases impurities) level. results were compared with previously obtained STM theoretical methods. This simple yields enhanced measurement possibilities different experimental systems without need significant investment or system modifications. model presented predict expected evaluate device parameters appropriate evaporated material.
