摘要: Much of the national dialogue regarding role faith-based organizations (FBOs) in social service delivery has focused on congregations that provide various types services to their communities. Comparatively little attention been given FBOs have incorporated independently as 501(c)3 tax-exempt organizations. This survey 237 community Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, finds a substantial amount is provided by agencies consider themselves be FBOs, which are comparable secular counterparts many respects, such size, funding, program capacity, management sophistication. appear substantially different from with respect extensive use volunteers, relatively low reliance government engagement policy advocacy lobbying.
