摘要: Abstract The optimal harvesting policy for a plant-herbivore system consisting of lichen and reindeer in Finnish Lapland is investigated. Using discrete time model with no age structure it shown that the procedure to reach target levels involves possible initial harvest then sequence no-harvesting years until has recovered. After two adjusting harvests will settle an equilibrium. solution compared fastest approach levels. solutions coincide if future yields are sufficiently discounted. With discount factor near one there be heavier solution. It seen allowing some also marked effect on total yield. not unique but depend both discounting length planning period.
