摘要: DNS is a critical component of the operation Internet applications. However, performance in wide-area not well understood. A number studies present measurements [1], [2], [3], [4], but are out date, collected at client locations (e.g., they taken root servers), or very few locations.In this paper we largest known study clients. We use data obtained under variety network environments such as location topology, connection technology and ISP. identify system measures investigate degree to which vary from site site. report on that relatively consistent throughout fraction names whose lookups succeed, those widely, overall response times gTLD servers. also discuss impact some these for non-cached domain names, confirming current notions about while challenging others.
