摘要: As our cities continue to grow, the majority of new dwellings are being built on greenfield sites at urban fringe. If we meet challenges climate change, water scarcity and sustainable natural resource management, a significant change is required in way developments planned, designed, constructed inhabited. Achieving outcomes requires that assessment can be undertaken assist decision-making evaluate progress towards goals. The question arises as how best achieve these assessments. Various tools already exist, interest applying Ecological Footprint methodology has grown. This paper considers an analysis Aurora, residential estate Melbourne's north. developed by VicUrban, with expressed aim creating benchmark development. analyses Aurora case study explore effectiveness context It concludes while limitations much offer development projects, providing evaluation significance achievements within ecological limits.
