摘要: Field metabolic rates (FMRs or HF), all measured using doubly labeled water, of 23 species eutherian mammals, 13 marsupial and 25 birds were summarized analyzed allometrically (log10-1og10 regressions). FMR is strong- ly correlated with body mass in each these groups. scales differently than does basal standard rate eutherians (FMR slope = 0.81) marsupials 0.58), but not 0.64 overall, 0.75 passerines other birds). Medium-sized (240-5 50 g) eutherians, marsupials, have similar FMRs, are - 17 times as high FMRs like-sized ectothermic vertebrates such iguanid lizards. For endothermic vertebrates, the energy cost surviving nature enormous compared that for ectotherms. Within birds, following subgroups: rodents, passerine her- bivorous herbivorous desert seabirds. Equations given use predicting daily annual food requirement a terrestrial vertebrate, its mass.
