摘要: The sequential stimulator for the treatment of dysphagic patients incorporates a unit which is capable detecting swallowing signal from glossal or temporalis surface electromyography (SEMG). When recognized, trigger sent to stimulation generation release high voltage stimuli sequentially suprahyoid muscles masseter and pharyngeal in order assist elevation larynx. This enables lumen open more widely so that food can pass through patient's pharynx into oesophagus easily during swallowing. Thus device assisting with dysphagia due variety causes, instance, brain injury, cerebrovascular accident, injury cervical nerves, weakness, old age. operative only when patient attempts swallow provides physiologic stimulus means immediate relief difficulty. also useful physical therapy whereby under chin, be re-educated contract normal coordinated sequence.
