摘要: Glacierised basins are significant sources of sediments generated by glacial retreat. Estimation suspended sediment transfer from glacierised is very important in reservoir planning for hydropower projects Himalaya. The present study indicates that storage and release proglacial streams may categorise the pattern these basins. Assessment concentration (SSC), load (SSL) yield has been undertaken Dunagiri Glacier basin located Garhwal Himalaya (30o33'20”N, 79o53'36”E), its results compared with Gangotri Dokriani glaciers sharing close proximity. Out total drainage area, about 14.3 % area glacierised. Data were collected five ablation seasons (1984–1989, barring 1986). mean daily SSCs July, August September 333.9, 286.0 147.15 mg/l, respectively, indicating highest July followed August. SSL trends estimated to be 93.0, 57.0 21.3 tonnes. About 59% melt period was transported during months September. Sediment computed 296.3 t km−2 yr −1. It observed cumulative proportion SSC precedes discharge throughout season except year 1987. Release terms less early part than later stage as discharge. Diurnal variations reach their maximum at 2400 h, therefore, found high night (2000–0400 h). There a good relationship between (1988 1989). Mean monthly provide exponentional temperature.
