摘要: Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is thought to have anti-proliferative and anti-inflammatory properties, but its effect on cancer cachexia unknown. Two effects were here investigated: that of CLA inflammatory mediator production in human lung cells, reduced mediators the myogenic differentiation murine muscle C2C12 cells. The latter cells grown medium conditioned by A427 with or without CLA, mimic only molecules released from tumor “in vivo”, excluding host-produced cachectic factors. results obtained show was found reduce necrosis factor-α, interleukin (IL)-1β prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), had no IL-6 production. mechanisms underlying cytokine PGE2 release are probably mediated activation peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)α, which increased at 24 h treatment. In turn, content presence allowed proliferate, again inducing PPAR. involvement PPARα demonstrated treatment antagonist MK-886. findings demonstrate action point possible application as a novel dietary supplement therapeutic agent disease states, such cachexia.
