摘要: Successful operations of quantum-logic-based $$^{27}\hbox {Al}^+$$ ion optical clocks have been reported by several groups. But there are still lingering issues. The first is the proper choice logic ions, and second quantum state identification methods. In this paper, advantage using $$^{25}\hbox {Mg}^+$$ as to ensure smaller time-dilation shift discussed. We also compare statistical methods identify clock state. Finally, we report observation $${^1S_0} \rightarrow ^{3}{P_0}$$ transition based on {Mg}^+$$ – $$^{27}\hbox pair. As a precondition for spectroscopy (QLS), both stretch (STR) mode center mass (COM) pair cooled vibrational ground Raman sideband cooling. mean phonon number measured be 0.10(1) STR 0.01(1) COM mode, respectively. heating rate evaluated 0.23(5) phonons/s 3.0(7) observed with full-width-half-maximum (FWHM) 38(4) Hz at 22 ms interrogation time.
