摘要: Growing evidence suggests that various aspects of time perception differ by chronological age including global horizons, the tracking passing time, and anticipation forecasting future events. Since any meaningful decision is situated in a temporal context entails consideration delayed outcomes, differences have potential implications for making across life span. In present chapter we review extant literature with particular emphasis on (1) different mental representations time; (2) underlying mechanisms (i.e., cognitive emotional aging, personal experience, as well objective perceived remaining life-expectancy); (3) differential effects specific (e.g., horizons versus events) strategies outcomes Based available evidence, highlight research gaps propose an agenda research.
