摘要: Soft x-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) measurements at the Co L2,3 edges of doped rutile TiO2 room temperature have revealed clear multiplet features characteristic ferromagnetic Co2+ ions coordinated by O2- ions, being in sharp contrast to featureless XMCD spectrum metal or metallic clusters. The absorption and spectra agree well with a full atomic-multiplet calculation for high-spin state D2h-symmetry crystal field Ti site TiO2. results indicate that ferromagnetism arises from substituting Ti4+ ions.
