摘要: Expressed mother's milk (EMM) provides innumerable immunologic and nutritional benefits. However, the value of EMM, especially calorie-rich lipids, may be reduced during continuous gavage infusion (CGI). The purpose study was to compare differences in lipid loss EMM for two types CGI tubing: standard bore minibore. In an experimental design, 30 specimens were infused using a simulated apparatus with syringe pump; each aliquotted infuse through both tubing. Preinfusion postinfusion concentrations measured by creamatocrit technique. mean preinfusion 6.57 percent (SD = 2.09) minimum maximum values 3.41 10.72 respectively (mean caloric content 22.91 Kcal/oz). tubing 4.98 1.59), 1.90 9.38 20.14 Mean decrease concentration between 1.59 1.10) 2.77 minibore 5.24 1.77) 2.55 9.68 respectively. This equates 20.59 Kcal/oz. 1.34 1.02) 2.32 Kcal/oz).(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
