Double-diffusive convection and its effect under reduced gravity

摘要: This paper reviews recent results on three aspects of double-diffusive convection under reduced gravity: diffusive instability caused by sideways heating, bottom and the salt-finger case. Some processes that are likely to occur during solidification highlighted. Using property values lead-tin alloy, it is concluded instabilities unlikely at steady gravity levels 0.01 0.0001 g(0). Salt finger be generated, however.
