摘要: ABSTRACTBlack bear populations in Alabama have been low since the early part of 20th century, but an increase sightings over past decade has led researchers to believe that may be growing, spurring discussions on restoring species throughout its native range state. The rise a large carnivore population is likely human–wildlife interactions and attract outspoken opinions support against recovery. We conducted mail survey residents access public views toward growing populations. Multiple linear regression was used examine degree which residents’ attitudes black bears could predicted by demographic, cognitive, experiential variables. Results demonstrate strongest predictors included mutualist hunting beliefs, trust state wildlife management agency, race, exposure education materials.
