摘要: This qualitative study was conducted using personal interviews of ten African American students in a small northwestern town Oregon. The purpose the to examine values and perceptions high school regarding their experiences community. researcher sought discover if viewed manner similar by John Ogbu (2003) Shaker Heights, Ohio. Based on students’ responses from interview, appeared have different perception future when compared findings that nine years earlier. majority this as very bright all were clear plans for education career. Students generally pleased with within community exception few who cited unpleasant incidents. gave specific recommendations how curriculum social life could be improved.
