摘要: Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) show high antibacterial activity against pathogens, which makes them potential new therapeutics to prevent and cure diseases. Porcine beta defensin 2 (pBD2) is a newly discovered AMP has shown different bacterial species including multi-resistant bacteria. In this study, the functional mechanism of pBD2 Staphylococcus aureus was investigated. After S. cells were incubated with concentrations pBD2, morphological changes in locations detected by electron microscopy. The differentially expressed genes (DEGs) also analyzed. results showed that membranes broken, bulging, perforated after treatment pBD2; mainly located on membranes, some entered cytoplasm. Furthermore, 31 DEGs confirmed quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). known associated transmembrane transport, transport inheritable information, other metabolic processes. Our data suggest might have multiple modes action, main kills destruction membrane interaction DNA. imply an effective bactericide for aureus, deserves further study as therapeutic substance aureus.
