摘要: This paper compares the ignitability of Troll B crude oil weathered under simulated Arctic conditions (0%, 50% and 90% ice cover). The experiments were performed in different scales at SINTEF's laboratories Trondheim, field research station on Svalbard broken (70-90% cover) Barents Sea. Samples from weathering tested for using same laboratory burning cell. measured these showed a good agreement samples with similar weathering. clearly affected process, 70% or more reduces allows longer time window situ burning. results Sea revealed that can vary within an slick. use cell demonstrated it be used as operational tool to monitor spills.
