Anisotropic properties of aromatic polyamides containing non-rigid rodlike units

摘要: Three kinds of aromatic polyamides were synthesized by Higashi reaction: with even, odd number methylenes and a meta phenylene as joint in the main chain. Each polymer consisted 7 p-phenylene-amide elements rigid segment. The even showed lyotropic liquid crystalline behavior broader biphasic region than fully para polyamide such poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide). Most polymers did not form phase crystallo-solvate. Exceptionally, glutaryl unit was observed to have swollen gel colored pattern polarized microscope. zigzag polymer, characterized highly kinetic rigidity, revealed an anisotropic solution.
