摘要: Gas phase ion chemistry using the selected flow tube (SIFT) technique is discussed with focus on fundamental studies structure, energetics, reactivity, and dynamics: Laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) kinetics/dynamics of N2+(v) ions (vibrationally state-selected ion-molecule reactions; energy transfer processes), mechanisms prototypical organic reactions (SN2 nucleophilic substitution kinetic isotope effects; hydrogen/deuterium exchange; effects in termolecular association), biological implications at a nitrogen center; ECO2 elimination alkyl hydroperoxides). Anion small nitroalkanes also presented. A powerful combination SIFT negative photoelectron spectroscopy used to study thermochemistry structure energetic exotic (alkyl peroxides; anionic derivatives diazo azole compounds, cyclooctatetraene, cyclopentanone). Finally, some new directions research are discussed, i.e., polyatomic radicals, chemical ionization mass spectrometry detection schemes.
