摘要: Osteoid osteomas located within the capsule of a joint are uncommon and present challenging diagnostic difficulties. Twelve patients with an intra-articular osteoid osteoma were studied retrospectively to determine spectrum clinical radiological findings. The features differ significantly from well known classical hallmarks extra-articular lesion. symptoms non-specific pain similar other common disorders response salicylate less precise. On plain radiography lesions difficult identify, lacking florid periosteal new bone intense perifocal sclerotic reaction. A detectable focal lesion is commonly absent considerable delay between onset detection tumour nidus. Bone scintigraphy computed tomography (CT) essential for accurate early diagnosis. These imaging techniques reveal abnormalities in cartilage growth, formation sclerosis distant on either side joint, disruption articular surface. Radiological follow up after surgery shows that these changes can be reversible, especially when diagnosis made early.
