摘要: Testing of mercury levels in both raw and treated wastewater at publicly owned treatment works the past has frequently detected concentrations just above common lower limit detection 0.2 μg/L. In recent years those results have been questioned. This paper assembles summarizes tests, conducted using more sensitive laboratory methods. The data indicate that although influent compare reasonably well with data, effluent are much than previously thought. Further, this new information shows a large percentage incoming becomes associated solids during process. Much research effort expended on behavior natural waters, knowledge can be applied to field. However, mechanisms for removal from waste stream not completely understood. Additional study is needed determine forms takes process which factors may affect its removal.
