Learning curve for robotic-assisted surgery for rectal cancer: use of the cumulative sum method

摘要: Few data are available to assess the learning curve for robotic-assisted surgery rectal cancer. The aim of present study was evaluate cancer by a surgeon at single institute. From December 2011 August 2013, total 80 consecutive patients who underwent performed same were included in this study. analyzed using cumulative sum method. This method used all cases, taking into account operative time. Operative procedures anterior resections 6 patients, low 46 intersphincteric 22 and abdominoperineal patients. Lateral lymph node dissection 28 Median time 280 min (range 135–683 min), median blood loss 17 mL 0–690 mL). No postoperative complications Clavien–Dindo classification Grade III or IV encountered. We arranged times calculated values, allowing differentiation three phases: phase I, Cases 1–25; II, 26–50; III, 51–80. Our suggested phases first 25 cases formed phase.
