摘要: Coalescing black-hole binaries are expected to be the strongest sources of gravitational waves for ground-based interferometers as well space-based interferometer LISA. Recent progress in numerical relativity now makes it possible calculate waveforms from strong-field dynamical merger and is revolutionizing our understanding these systems. We review dramatic developments, emphasizing applications issues wave observations. These new capabilities also make accurate calculations recoil or kick imparted final remnant black hole when merging components have unequal masses, unaligned spins. highlight recent work this area, focusing on results interest astrophysics.
