摘要: A method and apparatus for cooling a high power laser oscillator (200) or amplifier is disclosed in which plurality of gain media (102) that are configured such the width greater than thickness media, sandwiched between pairs optically transparent materials (104) having thermal conductivity. In this way, shortened path created from face surface axially via heat conductor to an external exchange system (202). This provides increased level interior avoids deleterious effects caused by over heating particularly with large effective cross sections desired and/or pulse repetition energy operation.
