摘要: The paper has studied the implementation of millets value chain pilot project under NAIP to create demand for sorghum through diversification in farm production, procurement, ultimately aiming at economical benefits both farmers and other stakeholders. This 4.5 years novel initiative is still mid-way. study reported that technological backstopping cultivation with end-product specific improved cultivars realized 51 per cent rise incremental net income Rs 16098/ha participating (58 kharif 44 rabi farmers). inconvenience preparation foods which been important reason decrease its consumption, eliminated development convenient ready-to-eat/cook foods. factorization investment expenditure made farmer (one acre farmer) worked out be 356 (equivalent 890/ha) a season resulting over baseline slightly higher than sorghum. output pricing helped attaining these benefits. However, benefit-cost ratio favour farmers, i.e. 1:7.5 vis-a-vis BC 1: 4.2. observed linking up entire stakeholders addition throughout system would renew uplift diminishing area production ultimate chain.
