摘要: A B S T R AC BACKGROUND Both targeted decolonization and universal of patients in intensive care units (ICUs) are candidate strategies to prevent health care–associated infec tions, particularly those caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). METHODS We conducted a pragmatic, cluster-randomized trial. Hospitals were randomly assigned one three strategies, with all adult ICUs given hospital the same strategy. Group 1 implemented MRSA screening isolation; group 2, (i.e., screening, isolation, carriers); 3, no patients). Proportional-hazards models used assess differences infection reductions across study groups, clustering according hospital. RESULTS
