摘要: Provision is made for selectively addressing inividual crests of traveling or standing capillary surface waves to eject droplets from the selected on command. To that end, mechanism this invention locally increase pressure acting and/or reduce tension liquid within crests. The preferred mechanisms have sufficient spatial resolution address a single crest substantially independently its neighbors. Discrete having plurality individual elements are especially attractive ink printing and similar applications, not only because their may be spatially fixed, but also frequency matched wave. Such matching enables wave addressed in parallel, such as line printing. Preferably, printer stabilized wave, so troughs locked predetermined locations.
