Christ and the Heavy Metal Subculture Applying Qualitative Analysis to the Contemporary Debate about H. Richard Niebuhr's Christ and Culture

摘要: This essay argues that the debate about usefulness of H. Richard Niebuhr’s famous typology in Christ and Culture could benefit from application sociological methods to discussion. As an example, it analyzes results a qualitative study particular church its interaction with heavy metal subculture light categories. It concludes categories are still descriptively helpful although some critiques proposed by George Marsden John Howard Yoder must be taken into consideration.
