On the ATLAS Top Mass Measurements and the Potential for Stealth Stop Contamination.

摘要: The discovery of the stop - Supersymmetric partner top quark is a key goal physics program enabled by Large Hadron Collider. Although much accessible parameter space has already been probed, all current searches assume mass known. This relevant for "stealth stop" regime, which characterized decay kinematics that force final state off its shell; such decays would contaminate measurements. We investigate resulting bias imparted to template method based ATLAS approach. A careful recasting these results shows effect can be as large 2.0 GeV, comparable quoted uncertainty on mass. Thus, robust exploration stealth splinter requires simultaneous consideration impact Additionally, we explore robustness technique, and point out simple strategy improving methodology implemented semi-leptonic channel.
