摘要: Abstract This work investigated the distribution of bubble size in annulus sparged airlift contactors (ALCs). Increasing gas velocity ALC considerably reduced and shifted from normal to log-normal types. Bubble was found decrease along axial distance riser ALC. Moreover, an increase ratio between cross-sectional areas downcomer result decreasing at high superficial velocity. Spargers with a large number orifices led larger system. In contrast, it that comparatively broad caused by employing sparger less orifices. also examined gas–liquid mass transfer characteristics forms coefficient specific interfacial area which were individually evaluated. It area, rather than coefficient, played more significant role controlling overall rate
