The results indicated that accurate identification depended follicles or corpora lutea (CL). findings were verified at post-mortem examination. study continued by scanning 35 live bitches three different units increasingly improved quality show process ovulation could be assessed with reasonable accuracy equipment, although exact fate follicle not imaged. judged against assays for blood circulating progesterone. A final group seven scanned high-grade an annular phased-array transducer attempt image ovulation. non-echogenic disappeared replaced CL hypoechoic respect surrounding tissue, thus allowing assessment time This confirmed progesterone assay.
