摘要: Abstract Aflatoxins are secondary metabolites, with aflatoxin B1 being the most common, reported as carcinogenic, teratogenic and genotoxic. This study investigates antiaflatoxigenic efficacy of herbaceous plant Cistus incanus L. against Aspergillus parasiticus in two substrates, yeast extract sucrose medium macadamia nuts. The methanolic showed pronounced ability, inhibiting production both substrates. AFB1 was decreased significantly a percentage 87.1–90.1% after addition YES medium. effectiveness also observed nuts, where by reduced 72.5–85.9%. Moreover, risk assessment estimated taking into account maximum amounts produced inoculated samples without addition. It revealed that presence leads to lesser exposure consumers.
