Electrically generated eddies at an eightfold stagnation point within a nanopore

摘要: Electrically generated flows around a thin dielectric plate pierced by cylindrical hole are computed numerically. The geometry represents that of single nanopore in membrane. When the membrane is uncharged, flow due solely to induced charge electroosmosis, and eddies high fields at corners nanopore. These meet stagnation points. If chosen correctly, points merge form point which four streamlines cross eight meet.
