摘要: Abstract We photo-verified the presence of a wolverine (Gulo gulo) in California for first time 86 years during February 2008. Herein we document process determining origin this using genetic, stable carbon (δ13C) and nitrogen (δ15N) isotope information. The wolverine's was significant because it is state-threatened species represents historically unique genotype wolverines North America. obtained both photographs noninvasively-collected genetic evidence (scat hair). DNA analysis revealed animal male not remnant historical population. Comparison with available data individual most closely related to populations from western edge Rocky Mountains. This connectivity between Sierra Nevada Mountain Ranges.
