Hyperthermic treatment of malignant diseases: Current status and a view toward the future

摘要: New studies in hyperthermia at the basic science, engineering, and clinical level have stimulated renewed enthusiasm for re-investigating its potential as an anticancer therapy. This article reviews salient features of these recent results points out areas additional investigation. Highlighting new is publication several positive phase III trials thermoradiotherapy compared to radiotherapy alone. Important highlights are encouraging using magnetic resonance imaging noninvasive thermometry. If this technology successfully implemented with real time power control it will revolutionize application hyperthermia.
