摘要: Pharmaceutical effluents collected from Bompai industrial area, Kano State were assessed for their physiochemical parameters, heavy metals and effect on haematology biochemical changes in Clarias gariepinus. Laboratory analyses performed using standard methods a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Five test solutions of the (0, 25, 50, 75, 100% v/v) prepared LC50 96hr acute toxicity test. The was 48.7% concentration by volume. Experimental fish exposed to sublethal concentrations 0.00% 2.43% (5/100 LC50), 12.17% (25/100 24.35% (50/100 LC50) 36.52% (75/100 28days.  Physicochemical parameters recorded higher than WHO recommended Standard with exception water temperature. Heavy decreased order Cr > Cu Pd Cd. Red blood Cells count, haemoglobin concentrations, packed cell volume, lymphocytes monocytes experimental decline significantly (p<0.05) when 2.43, 12.17, 24.35, effluents  compared control. White mean corpuscular haemoglobin, neutrophils eosinophils (P<0.05) However, significant increase activities serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST), Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) alanine (ALT) as exposure period continued It is concluded that induces haematological alterations. therefore regulatory bodies should adopt holistic approach aquatic pollution abatement, bearing mind negative impact non-target organisms
