摘要: Abstract Palmityl acyl carrier protein is elongated specifically to stearyl by a system which required palmityl protein, malonyl CoA, and NADPH. Extracts from maturing safflower seeds, avocado mesocarp, stroma spinach chloroplasts contain the elongation system. The differs de novo fatty acid synthetase in that (1) it inactivated at 37 °C whereas remains fully active, (2) pH optimum of 7.8–8.6 has narrow 7.0, (3) NADPH requires both NADH, (4) relatively insensitive cerulenin highly sensitive. Acetyl CoA does not serve as C 2 donor. Stearyl lauryl myristyl are inactive.
