摘要: Abstract Higher alcohols made of renewable resources have better fuel properties and can potentially serve as alternatives than lower in blends. 1-Pentanol, which has a chain five carbons easily be blended with both diesel biodiesel, is promising type alcohol for the future. The purpose this work to investigate ternary blends (D), waste oil methyl ester (B) higher 1-pentanol (Pen), effects such on engine performance emissions engine. By splash blending, several were prepared: DB (80% 20% biodiesel by volume), D75B20Pen5 (75% diesel, 5% 1-Pentanol), D70B20Pen10 (70% 10% 1-Pentanol) D60B20Pen20 (60% 1-pentanol). In order determine exhaust emissions, tests performed at 3 loads (0, 1.5, 3 kW) constant speed (2000 rpm). Ternary increased brake specific consumption (BSFC) while decreased thermal efficiency (BTE) compared fuel. Also, an increase pentanol concentration had increasing effect gas temperature (EGT). latent heat evaporation caused cooling effect, reduction combustion CO emissions.
