摘要: The tissue reaction to implanted materials and their wear products is important for the long-term fixation of a total hip replacement (THR). Recent reports indicate relatively high incidence aseptic loosening with Christiansen prostheses. We examined reactions in two groups prostheses: (1) 16 prostheses polyacetal (Delrin) sockets, (2) 18 Charnley-Muller ultrahigh-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWP) sockets. Specimens from these 34 patients were compared combined qualitative semiquantitative morphological study. saw similar histological changes specimens both groups, but bone–cement interfaces acetabulum femur shaft group showed more inflammation necrosis.
