摘要: Exponential biosynthesis and excretion of lipoteichoic acid (LTA) during the exponential phase growth, continued synthesis valine starvation Streptococcus faecium (S. faecalis ATCC 9790), were shown. During extracellular LTA (LTAx) accounted for approximately 13% total in cultures, whereas starvation, this percentage increased to 60% within 4 h. LTAx was present a low-molecular-weight, apparently deacylated form, intracellular (LTAi) primarily an high-molecular-weight, acylated micellar form. Experiments utilizing chases either fully equilibrated or short pulses [14C]- [3H]glycerol used demonstrate that derived directly from LTAi.
